Join the Clay Cabbage Bowl Leaf Workshop, where you’ll get hands-on experience moulding and shaping clay into your own beautiful bespoke leaf dish.
Artist and ceramicist, Eleanor Meredith, will guide the clay workshop where you will learn how to work the clay from a slab into a fully formed leaf-imprinted bowl. Eleanor has a studio on Balcaskie Estate where she creates bespoke ceramics, paintings and prints. With a background in teaching at the Norwich University of Arts, Eleanor’s expertise and knowledge of ceramics will make this workshop one not to be missed.
Once you are happy with your final design, Eleanor will fire your creations in her kiln back at the studio. She will then finish the design with a layer of rich green glaze that highlights the leaf design. Firing and glazing of the bowls will take place several days after the workshop day meaning your bowls will be ready to collect at the March Market weekend on the 8th and 9th. Alternatively, if you are unable to attend the March Market a postage fee of £12- £15 can be paid for at the end of the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for ages 12 years +.
This workshop will take place during the February Market weekend at Bowhouse. The main hall will be busy with local food and drink traders selling an array of fresh produce.
